And the Oscar goes too...

The Oscars!

Our group of friends has an "Oscar Night."  It all started years ago, before anyone had kids and before we went to bed at 9:30 pm (on a good day). It used to be just the 6 of us in fancy dresses, wine, food, and hours of laughter. Time sure flies... now we have babies in fancy dresses (amazing), wine, food, bottles, toys, and a baby proofed table... still hours of laughter.

Some of the essentials:

1)  OSCAR COOKIES!

The little pup loved them. He's into anything fancy.

2) Food

Crescent Rolls stuffed with cream cheese, bacon, and jalapeno!

Part of the spread. I forgot to take pictures with everything out.

3) A RED Carpet and Fancy Dresses

4) A photo shoot or ten

My partner in crime... Baby K

Baby Ellie!

Kami needs wine to tolerate the babies...

5)  Good Friends!

Seeing your friends is always a nice reminder...

Of how great they are!

A little family...

Look what I found on my doorstep…

This little needle pointed family is a custom order (you choose the colors) from a little store on ETSY. Kristin will help you customize your family and will send you some proofs to approve. Once you love it, she gets to work. :) It even comes in a frame (which I might change to match my home a little better).

Another successful Etsy order. I love it!

Special Delivery...

              It’s here! It’s here!

I've been waiting for some time for this new book to come and teach me all of the fonts that I want to use on my chalk boards. I need some inspiration to help jump start my goal of frequent chalk board change ups.  I ordered it months ago (and apparently, so did everyone else), but it was on back order. So, when I came home to find it at my door (without any notice), I was ecstatic.

Inspiration:

It's time for the chalkboard to experience a little upgrade!

My chalkboards:

1) the classy edition (smaller but GOLD)

2) the barnwood edition (2 feet by 3 feet- the big papi)

The tools: chalk holder! Genius!

No one likes to get chalk on their fingers.

Time to get started...

A productive day...

Today's agenda:
1) LAUNDRY... uggg.
2) Cook a new soup.
3) Take the papillon to the park for some fetch.

Anything else that's completed today is a bonus.

 So here goes nothing...
1)     I'll spare you the laundry pictures... I'm sure you've seen enough at your own home. It sucks no matter where it is.
2)   The soup

Kale, Bean & Sausage Soup

Ingredients:
-     A bag of washed and cut kale (or a bunch)
-     1 can of white beans
-     2 garlic cloves
-     One box of chicken broth
-     4 dinner sized sausages (any flavor)
-     ½1/2 of an onion chopped

Directions:
In a pot, sautéeé the onions, garlic, sausages and kale (until the kale is soft and the sausages and onions are brown). Add the beans & chicken broth. Allow to cook until the flavors are nicely mixed together (this requires many taste tests).

3)   This cute pup just loves the park, fetching, and a day off work.

It was a good day.

Someone's getting hitched...

My friend, Monique, is getting married. And as many of
you know, marriage means lots of crafting. Some bachelorette fun was the perfect excuse to make her some cute things to make the weekend more festive and special for her.

Cucumber & Jalapeno Margaritas.

The must haves:

  • Mason Jars for everyone.

  • Cute Skewers and straws.

  • "Dressed up" Cupcakes {opps, I forgot to take a picture when there were tons and they looked less beat up}.

  • the PERFECT prizes for grown ups.

  • Some rings for good measure. {we didn't make these- obviously}

There's nothing better than making cute things to enjoy with people who love them as much as I do. Thanks Nas, Mary, & Rhonda for creating, crafting, carrying, and consuming it all with me!
And more importantly...

CONGRATULATIONS future Mrs. Fry.

The little pup was not a part of this celebration... although he would have been if they allowed him in  Las Vegas.  Don't judge me.
